ECON 1620: Introduction to Econometrics (Undergraduate, only in Fall)

 

Econometrics is the application of statistical methods to the study of economic data and problems. Economics 1620 is the basic introductory course in statistics and econometrics in the Economics Department at Brown. The course covers topics in descriptive statistics, probability theory, point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.

ECON 2030: Introduction to Econometrics I (Graduate)

 

This course serves as an introduction to probability theory and statistical inference for graduate studies in economics and related fields. It is particularly intended to prepare students for graduate econometrics courses (Econ 2040) and for applications of probability theory in other parts of economics.
